Nile Shop Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Site and place orders. By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

2. Products and Product Information

Nile Shop aims to provide accurate product descriptions, images, prices, availability, and specifications for all products listed on the Site. However, minor differences in product color or appearance may occur due to screen/display settings, photography conditions, or supplier product variations.

If we discover that a product listing contains a material error, we will take reasonable steps to correct it and, where an order has already been placed, will contact you as described in the "Order Acceptance and Cancellation by Nile Shop" section below.

3. Pricing

• All prices displayed on the Site are shown in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) unless otherwise stated.
• Prices may include or exclude applicable taxes, and delivery/shipping charges will be clearly indicated separately during checkout where applicable.
• Nile Shop may offer promotions, discounts, or coupon codes from time to time, subject to their own specific terms.
• For certain orders, Nile Shop requires an advance payment of 25% of the order value at checkout, with the remaining balance payable upon delivery. Delivery costs are paid by the customer. This will be clearly shown at checkout before you confirm your order.

4. The Ordering Process

When you shop on the Site, the ordering process generally works as follows:

• Order Submission — You add products to your cart, enter delivery and contact details, and select a payment method. Before finalizing your order, you are able to review your selected products, quantities, prices, and delivery information, and correct any mistakes before submitting.
• Payment Authorization — Once you confirm and submit your order, your chosen payment provider (Stripe or Chapa) processes your payment authorization.
• Order Confirmation — Upon successful payment authorization, you will receive an order confirmation (on-screen and/or by email) summarizing your order. This confirms that we have received your order and payment.
• Order Acceptance — Order confirmation reflects that we have received your order; it does not by itself guarantee that every item is available or that we have finally accepted the order for fulfilment. Nile Shop reserves the right to decline or cancel an order in the limited circumstances described below, in which case you will be notified and, where payment has been made, provided with an appropriate refund.
• Fulfilment and Shipping — Once your order is accepted for fulfilment, we (or our suppliers/logistics partners) will prepare and ship your order.

5. Payment

Nile Shop accepts payment through the following third-party payment providers:

• Stripe — for card payments
• Chapa — for supported Ethiopian payment methods, including Telebirr and CBE Birr where available through our integration

6. Order Acceptance and Cancellation by Nile Shop

While we aim to fulfil every order, there are limited circumstances in which Nile Shop may need to cancel an order, including where:

• A product has become unavailable after the order was placed
• A supplier is unable to fulfil the order
• A serious pricing or technical error has occurred
• We reasonably suspect a fraudulent or unauthorized transaction
• Payment authorization fails or cannot be verified
• Cancellation is required to comply with an applicable legal or regulatory requirement

7. Shipping and Delivery

Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and are approximately 3–7 business days, depending on your location. Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by factors including:

• Delivery location
• Product availability
• Supplier fulfilment timelines
• Courier or logistics delays
• Weather conditions
• Public holidays
• Other events reasonably outside Nile Shop's control

8. Customer Accounts

If you create an account with us, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your login credentials confidential and secure
• Not share your account with others in a way that compromises its security
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account

9. Prohibited Use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

• Engage in fraudulent activity, including payment fraud or placing false orders
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other accounts, or our systems
• Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Engage in automated abuse of the Site (such as scraping or bot activity) without authorization
• Misuse another customer's account
• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose

10. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the Nile Shop name, logo, website design, original text, graphics, and software/interface elements are the property of Nile Shop and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nile Shop does not claim ownership of third-party brands, product photographs, trademarks, or supplier content that Nile Shop does not own.

11. Third-Party Services

Nile Shop relies on third-party providers to operate the Site, including:

• Stripe and Chapa — for payment processing
• Delivery and logistics providers, for order fulfilment
• Hosting and infrastructure providers, for operating the Site
• Email service providers, for order and account communications

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Ethiopian law, Nile Shop shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Ethiopian law, including mandatory consumer protection rights.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia, except to the extent that mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.

14. Disputes and Complaints

If you have a complaint or concern about your order or your experience with Nile Shop, please contact us first using the details below. We encourage customers and Nile Shop to attempt to resolve complaints directly and in good faith. Nothing in this section waives or restricts any statutory right you may have to pursue a complaint through applicable consumer protection or regulatory channels under Ethiopian law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, features, payment methods, applicable laws, or practices. The effective date at the top of this document indicates when it was last updated.
